ASK

Do you want to improve your hat images?

I can help you with that.

Ask

60 minutes that could change the way you photograph your hats forever.

My Ask session was packed with information, ‘golden’ advice and useful practical tips and tricks.

What is Ask?

Ask is about helping milliners to take better photographs. I do this by sharing of my particular knowledge in this highly specialised area.

Imagine having access to the insights of a professional millinery photographer. Someone who can help you overcome the obstacles you have encountered. ASK gives you that access.

My service is designed to help you take even better photographs of your hats. It is tailored specifically for you and delivered in a way that is easy to follow, whatever your knowledge level.

My service provides 60 minute one-to-one Zoom call. This will give you the opportunity to explain what you want to achieve and I can help you get there. At the end of the call, you will be a better hat photographer.

What sort of things does the service cover?

Anything and everything to do with hat photography whether you are using a smartphone or want to develop your digital camera skills. For example;

  • You may have a number of images you want to have me review and then walk you through fixes and suggestions to help you improve them.
  • What apps to use whether that be a phone’s native application or stepping up to Snapseed, Lightroom or Photoshop.
  • How you can create consistency in your images so you start to build a brand identity?
  • And how you do all of the above without spending too much money.

When you purchase your Ask you will need to complete a preparation form. This will give you a chance to tell me a bit about about what you want to achieve your 60 minutes.

How much does it cost?

The cost is £60 for one hour.

To manage things in an orderly way you can pre-resister your interest in Ask below. I will then make contact with you when Ask goes live.

Can more than one person attend?

In theory yes but in practice that can become a bit clunky as you both may have different objectives.

What makes our service unique is its one-to-one consultancy approach, ensuring that you get a maximum value.

Is it very technical?

No, not at all. As I am self-taught I know how intimidating technical jargon can be; so I avoid it.

Do I need a camera?

I can advise on cameras or smartphones. I tend to focus more on things like light, composition and colour. I can also share my opinion on apps that I think you will find useful. A lot of what I suggest is either free or very affordable.

Do I have to be UK based?

Not at all. Hello Zoom! I can set up a call wherever you are in the world. For example, if you are in the USA then I can book you in for afternoon/evening GMT.

Why 60 minutes?

I limit the call to 60 minutes so you are not overwhelmed with information.

The Ask Story.

At London Hat Week 2020, Anjee and I were invited to give a talk about millinery photography. We shared some easy-to-do tips as well as constructive critiques of hat images that our audience submitted to us. We have recently done a similar talk for the Milliners Guild in the USA and The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in NYC.

We had nearly 100 milliners attend our talks from all over the world. What was really interesting was the interaction. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive and we enjoyed helping milliners improve their photographs.

There was clearly an appetite from milliners to learn and develop their own photography skills. Which got us thinking about how we could share our knowledge of hat photography with the widest possible audience, the global millinery community. The answer was ASK.

What Other Milliners Are Saying.
