Portraits

Portrait photography

My name is Jon Busby and I am a portrait photographer.

Portraiture can tell us about how we see people. Portraits often show us what a person looks like, but they can also capture an idea of a person or what they stand for.

Portraits can also tell us how a person wants to be seen, and capture a particular mood that the sitter is experiencing. This can be described through choice of colour and a general atmosphere in an image.

A portrait can do many things. It can give a sense of importance to a person and their life; it can also give immortality to a person’s character: portraits live on forever!

Every sitter has something to give and my passion in portrait photography is finding that then bringing it out.

How I Work

Probably the most common thing that is said to I me at a shoot is “I hate having my photo taken.” Music to my ears because I want to photograph yourself in a way that makes you feel positive about yourself.

Set up is very light and non-intimidating. All that is required is a white/neutral wall, a medium sized meeting room, a table and a chair.

My secret weapon is time. Time to for you to relax, time to settle, time to feel at ease. My shoots normally last 3-4 hours and are very relaxed.

Pre-shoot you will be sent my “What To Wear At A Headshot Shoot” prep sheet.
