A full photoshoot day to be shared between four milliners.
We are always looking to develop creative ideas and help milliners have their work professionally photographed.
In 2023 we developed a remote shoot service for milliners called ‘Virtual Studio’. ‘Virtual’ enables milliners to have pro photo quality images without them having to leave their home. It is especially great for milliners who want editorial images but cannot easily travel.
So what is new for 2024? We are pleased to announce our new Photoshoot Day For Milliners. We think it is a bit special and we hope it appeals to you.
What Is A Photoshoot Day?
Our photoshoot day is based in a professional studio and provides everything you need to have your hats photographed in an editorial style. This includes models, HMUA’s, exquisite lighting and 3-4 elegant sets. You will be able to place your hats on the models and provide creative input.
The shoot is for eight hours and we will rotate hats by milliner. This will be done on a fair basis with each hat being photographed for 10-15 minutes.
The size of the studio, based in Northamptonshire, is such that we can easily accommodate four milliners to have their hats photographed on two models.
By bringing together four milliners we create economies of scale. Stretching over eight hours it is a day to lose yourself in millinery, spend time with your peers and have your hats professionally photographed.
We anticipate this event will be in either April or May and on a Saturday or Sunday.
How Our Photoshoot Day Works
Register
By registering your interest in the form below you will go on our list. This helps us manage those who are interested through our newsletter and update you as we firm up on dates etc.
Payment
When the studio day is organised you will be sent information about the date, location and payment. Only those milliners who have registered will be invited.
We appreciate this is a significant investment for you. No payment will be required until we have finalised all of the studio day elements and a date.
If you wish to proceed and reserve a place you will be required to pay an initial deposit of £60 to confirm your spot with the remainder being paid 10 days before the photoshoot day.
Acceptance will be on a first paid, first served basis.
To work we require four milliners. If we do not reach that number eg three, all deposits will be returned in full.
Shoot Day
The studio will be booked from 10am until 6pm. Our plan is to do this event in either April or May and ideally on a weekend. The studio is located in Northamptonshire.
We will shoot a minimum of six hats per milliner to ensure that output quality of the images is not compromised. If we have time to shoot more hats we will try our best. Anjee is experienced in ensuring that the models and hats are rotated efficiently. We will also have Kerry our HMUA present. She will also provide reel style videos if she has time.
Light refreshments will be provided.
You are more than welcome to bring accessories etc for the models to wear.
The studio has a beautiful natural light window. It also has four other spaces; a mottled and minimal concrete wall, a black panelled wall, a white panelled wall and multiple paper backdrops. The way the day works is that we will work on one set, shoot each milliners pieces then move to the next set.

All images are sent to you within 10 days of the shoot. Your images will have been lightly edited to look their absolute best. They are sent in a private digital album. You can download them and share as you see fit.
