So far we have had milliners from the UK, Spain, Brazil, Australia and the USA. Today’s share is Donna Sandefer from Hardy, Arkansas.

Who are you?

My name is Donna Sandefer. I am a beginner at millinery! I love hats. I love buying hats, looking at hats and now- making hats! There is no better feeling than having someone ask where you bought your hat from and being able to say “I made it.”

How are you and your loved ones coping at the moment?

I am lucky enough to be working but I am so sad for the businesses and people who are not able to have employment. I just take one day at a time.

What are you most worried about?

Someone I love getting sick. People going hungry. Life as we know it being changed into something scary and unrecognizable.

Tell us a little bit about your interest in millinery.

I have always loved seeing hats and hat blocks and the work that goes into something so beautiful. I watch period dramas and dream of days where those beautiful, feathery hats were a MUST.

If you could pick one celebrity to wear one of your hats who would it be and why?

Jennifer Garner. She just seems so classy and chic.

What was the last film you watched?

Emma.

What song are you listening to a lot during the day?

Cornflake Girl- Tori Amos

What was the last book you read?

The Cutting Place- Jane Casey

If you could invite three people to dinner, past or present, who would they be and why would you invite them?

Jackie Kennedy- Because she endured so much and so gracefully.

Queen Elizabeth 1 – I’d love to know how her mind worked, being such a strong leader during a time when men ruled.

Adele- because THAT VOICE!

Tell us a guilty pleasure you have.

Peanut butter milkshakes with cookie dough. It’s the best, but so bad for you.

Name a luxury in your life you can’t do without?

Hot water.
